•Given :

The price of goat = 0.50 Rupees

The price of horse = 3.00 Rupees

The price of elephant = 10 Rupees

Total number of animals = 100

To price of all animals = 100 Rupees

•To Find :

Total number of goat,horse,elephant

•Solution :

Let, The number of goat = X

The number of horse = Y

The number of elephant = Z

we know, the total number of animals is 100

so, X+Y+Z = 100......(1)

and so,we can write,

0.5X + 3Y+ 10Z = 100.....(2)

or, 0.5X+ 0.5Y + 0.5Z= 0.5 × 100

Or,0.5X + 0.5Y+ 0.5Z= 50.....(3)

so, from equation (2) - (3)

(0.5X + 3Y + 10Z ) - (0.5X+0.5Y+0.5Z ) = 100 - 50

Or,2.5Y+ 9.5Z = 50

if, Y=1

then, 9.5Z = 50 - 2.5

or,  9.5Z = 47.5

 or,  Z= 47.5/9.5

So, Number of elephant Z=5

And number of horse Y=1

and from (1)

  X+ 1 + 5 = 100

Or,X = 100 - 6

Or, X= 94

So, number of goat = 94

number of the horse = 1

and number of elephant = 5
