The later rulers Shahjahan and Aurengazeb had lost all the love which Akbar had won from the Hindus. Akbar is considered as the great Mughal emperor who put the Mughal empire on a firm and stable footing, with a reliable revenue system and with expansion of its borders deeper into Indian heartland.
Akbar, believed in constantly striving for expansion to keep ambitious neighbours in check. The expansion of the Mughal Empire started with Akbar and for forty years he made many conquests to build and consolidate a vast empire.
During his rule, the Mughal empire tripled in size and wealth. He created a powerful military system and instituted effective political and social reforms.
