The founder of the Brahmo Samaj was the Ram Mohan Roy.
He attained the ambition to fight upon the evil social system of 'Sati' in which wife was also buried on the pyre of the dead husband.
He struggled upon other prevalent social problems such as polygamy and child marriage.
He founded the Hindu College in 1817 with the cooperation of his friend, David Hare.
