Wildlife is important in many ways and it is probably common across the world whether the country is Vietnam or Bolivia or Gabon or India.

There are different ways in which different wild animals are important to society

I will just take two examples.

Parrot family birds play a very important role as seed predators and hence keep seed numbers down and also ensure that only the healthiest seeds get to form new plants.

Vultures , which have declined by 90 to 99% depending on species play a very important role in getting rid of dead carcasses of wild and domestic animals. In their absence the number of Stray dogs and Rats have greatly increased in India. As a result of this the number of rabies cases have drastically gone up.

You can find out more about this from Journals and Magazines published by conservation and Scientific organisations like World Parrot Trust, International Ornithological Union - Psittaciformes Specialist group and Bombay Natural History Society.
