Mixing of harmful gases like SO2(sulphur dioxide) and No2(nitrogen dioxide) and CO(carbon monooxide) etc. in rain cause acid rain.

due to some gases present in the atmosphere like sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen when it reacts with water molecules it cause acid rain (sulphuric acid )( nitric acid)
