Acids are stored in plastic bottles why
Answers
because if we store acids in metal bottles then it will react with them
so acids are stored in plastic bottles
Here's your answer mate....
There are a few reasons actually
.1) most high quality lab acids are still stored/sold in glass, the latest improvement ( for safety) is a plastic film around the bottle so if the bottle is dropped on the floor the glass is not chattered around and you’ve got possible a limited spilling of the acid.
2) But these days many liquid chemicals are delivered in plastic bottles ( HDPE mostly) for a few reasons, costs, less weight & volume = less transport costs, less risk during transport ( & less styrofoam needed ), less risk for the laboratory workers, dropping a bottle is no problem, the plastic ones don’t break.
Hope it helps
