Acids and Bases are encountered daily in chemistry and our everybody life. Both acid and base make the critical part and parcel of our livelihood. They play and efficient role inside or outside of our body. From the formation of the food to the decomposition of any substance , acids and bases play a crucial role in our life.

Acid :-

• A dilute solution of acetic acid called vineger which is used in processing food and drink.
• Nitric and sulfuric acid is used for manufacturing fertiliser
• Hydrochloric acid , which is present in your stomach, participate in the hydrolysis of protein. It also used in producing PVC, a common type of plastic.
• Citric acid is used in food industry to imitate lemon flavour.

Base :-

• Ammonia is used for manufacturing fertiliser
• calcium hydroxide is used in sewage treatment.
• some organic superbases are used for organic compound synthesis.

Salt :

• sodium bicarbonate is used in baking ( know as baking soda) and in treating acid indigestion due to its slight basicity
• Sodium carbonate is used to treat hard water.
• Hypochlorite salt of sodium is the main ingredient of bleach, a cleaning products.
• In fact, some domestic cleaning products are made up of salt of fatty acid and sodium.
