Acids produce ions in aqueous solution. Which gas is liberated and how to test it?

H₂ gas is liberated.
we can test this gas by taking it in a test tube and when we will bring a burning splinter near its mouth then the splinter will subsides with a pop sound. This confirms the presence of H₂.
