acquired traits cannot direct the evolution. evolution occurs as a result of changes which are carried through many generations
a) acquired traits mostly are concerned with somatic cells
b) acquired traits cannot be carry forwarded to next generations as there is no change in the genetic material of the reproductive cells
C) acquired traits mainly include changes in the behaviour which are due to life style followed by an organisms.

  1. Acquired characters are nonheritable.
  2. They do not introduced change in the genes.
  3. They are not transferred to germs cell or gametes to be passed on to next generation.
