to identify active voice

you will see that the subject does some work.

eg. raj takes a ball.

to identify passive voice

you will see that that object is starting the sentence and some effect by the subject is seen.

eg. a ball is taken by raj

and always remember when you are converting an active sentence to passive the verd should be in third form.

in the sentence above the verb is take

take is the 1st form

took is 2nd form

taken is 3rd form
