Hi there,

Active mass of a solid or a liquid is supposed to remain constant because it is an intensive property which means that the the number of molecules per unit of  a solid or a liquid remain constant keeping in mind that their density is also constant. The molecular weight of solids and liquids unlike gases also remains constant.

The active mass of CaO is 1 gram because it is always equal to 1 in solids.

I hope the answer is helpful.

Thanks
