Active Voice --- A verb is said to be in the active voice when the the subject is the doer of the action.
Passive Voice --- A verb is said to be in the passive voice when the subject of the verb receives the action. The subject is not the doer of the action in passive voice.

1. Juhi ate an apple.
2. An Apple was eaten by Juhi.
These two sentences have the same meaning. They are two different ways of convincing the same thing.
In the first sentence, the subject Juhi is the doer of the action. So, the verb ate is said to be in active voice.
In the second sentence, the subject An Apple is the receiver of the action. So, the verb was eaten is said to be in the passive voice.
This shows that a transitive verb may be used in active voice or passive voice.
EXAMPLES OF ACTIVE VOICE ---
1. Sahil drew a portrait.
2. Simi makes tea.
3. Sona is chopping vegetables.
In these sentences, the objects a portrait, tea, vegetables are placed after the verbs drew, makes and is chopping. The subject Sahil, Simi and Sona have been placed before the verbs to show that the action is performed by the subjects. All these sentences are in active voice.
