2. Heat the boiling tube over a burner (by keeping the mouth of boiling tube away from face).

3. The green colour of ferrous sulphate crystals first changes to white and then a brown solid (ferric oxide) is formed.

4. A gas having smell of burning sulphur comes out of the boiling tube.
