Aim:- Burning of magnesium ribbon.

Apparatus :- Pair of tongs and burner.

Materials :- Magnessium ribbon and sand paper.

Procedure :-

Take magnessium ribbon and rub it with the sand paper.

Hold it with the pair of tongs

Burn it with a burner.

Observation :- Magnessium burns in oxygen by producing dazzling white flames and changes into white powder.

Conclusion:- A chemical combination reaction.

2Mg + O2 =》 2MgO.
