Question :-

To solve the simultaneous equations by determinant method

y + 2x - 19 = 0 ; 2x - 3y + 3 = 0

__________________________

Required Answer :-

Given:-

y + 2x - 19 = 0

2x - 3y + 3 = 0

By arranging both the equations in standard form :-

ax + by = c

---------------------------

-2x + y = 19 -(i)

2x - 3y = -3 -(ii)

-----------------------------

D = -2 1

2 -3

D = (-2 x -3) - (2 x 1)

D = 6 - 2

D = 4

__________________________

Dy = -2 19

2 -3

Dx = (-2 x -3) - (19 x 2)

Dx = 6 - 38

Dx = -32

___________________________

Dx = 19 1

-3 -3

Dx = (19 x -3) - (-3 x 1)

Dx = -57 + 3

Dx = -54

___________________________

x = Dx/D

x = -54/4

x = -13.5

y = Dy/D

y = -32/4

y = -8

___________________________

therefore solution for (x, y) is ( -13.5,-8)
