In this activity, students create a story with article and noun cards. The class is divided
into groups.
Each
group is given a set of article and noun cards, which is spread out
face up on the table. The students then begin and decide on the type of story they want
to write, e.g. horror, love, science fiction, etc. The students then create a story using as
many of the articles and noun cards as possible. Students are also encouraged to add
adjectives to each noun to make their story more descriptive, e.g. 'a journey' could be
changed to 'a long tiring journey' When they have finished, each group reads their
story aloud. The feedback is given if there are any grammatical errors, paying attention
to the use of articles. Then the groups take it in turns to read their stories to the class.
When all the stories have been read out, the whole class votes for the best one.​
