We store wet samples separately because of the following reasons:

  • Wet samples/ samplings refer to substrate medium that has been exposed to moisture or has been treated with water or any other liquid that has wettability (ability to wet).
  • This is a potentially concerning issue as the medium is now a ground for microbes and other organisms to grow on as it is now wet and provides shelter to a concerning amount of organisms.
  • Thus, we store wet samples in sterile, safe conditions such as separate boxes, containers and packets to prevent cross contamination or unnecessary microbial growth.
