Electrical appliances have a great variety of power ratings. Find as many electrical appliances in your dorm room / apartment as you can and record the voltage, resistance and power ratings of each of the appliances in the table given below.

1. Using the power rating, calculate the amount of electric current used by each of these appliances. [Use the mathematical formula: P = VI or V = IR]

2. Using the rate of electricity as Rs 8 / kWh, calculate the cost of electricity used by your house in a month. List the ways to reduce the electricity bill of your house.
