Story the Serang of the Ranaganji

Dr. A.J.Cronin is the author of Serang of the Ranaganji. The backdrop of this story starts from the British rule in India.

During the authors voyage from Liverpool to Calcutta he is being accompanied by a Serang named Hasan. He is also accompanied by a social promoter, Ms. Jope Smith and the captain of the ship Ranaganji. During their voyage the author and Hasan is faced with a small crisis and an epidemic named small pox. At this point of time they were in the middle of the sea. During this time both of them try to overcome the situation very calmly and with bravery. Also during this course of journey Hasan realizes that the author is not at all money minded.
