Given : The number of words in a child's vocabulary is a function of the child age.

The formula for the numbers of vocabulary of typical children between the ages of 20 Months and 50 months is n=60a - 900

where a represents the child's age in months and

n represent the number of words that he could uses correctly.

To Find : How many words does a typical 25-months old child know?

Complete the table below

Solution:

n=60a - 900

a represents the child's age in months

25-months old child

=>a = 25

Substitute a = 25  in  the equation

n = 60a - 900

n = 60(25) - 900

=>  n = 1500 - 900

=> n = 600

Hence  a typical 25-months old child know 600 words

Completed table

20 300

25 600

30 900

35 1200

40 1500

45 1800

50 2100
