The Earth is divided into 5 main latitude regions that comprise of the geographical zones, which are divided by the major latitude circles.
The Tropics, also called as the Torrid Zone is bounded by the Tropic of Cancer on the northern side and the Tropic of Capricorn on the south. The sun passes twice a year directly overhead of these regions.
The Polar Regions or the Frigid Zones are the coldest regions on Earth and are usually covered in snow and ice.
