Meta means after, Morph means form
•Two classification of metamorphic rocks are foliation/lineation and non-foliates.
Foliation rocks project fine grains whereas non foliate rocks project non foliated substances.
•Example of foliation rocks are schist, gneiss, slate.
•Example of non foliate rocks are marble, quartz, hornfel.
•Metamorphic rocks are formed from heat and pressure. It occurs close to volcanoes, where underground magma cause the heating.
