You need: A clothes hanger, a
cord, 2 chairs, a broomstick, a pair
of scissors, a thick book, spools,
a scale
Do as follows: Unwind the
clothes hanger and thread it
through the spools. Move the
spools to the middle of the flat
length of the clothes hanger, and
fold back the hanger. You may
request an adult to help you.
Place the two chairs at a distance
of 1 m with backrests facing each
other, put the broomstick on the
backrests, and hang the hanger
on it. Tie one end of the cord

other end of the cord through
the spools. The length of the
cord should be around twice
the distance of the hanger from
the floor. Pull the cord and lift
the book by 10 cm. How
