ACTIVITY OPERATIONS OF INTEGERS Aim : To Understand the concept of operations of Addition of Integers Materials Required: Integer slabs Procedure : ● When positive signs are added ,the result is the sum of their absolute value with positive Sign Eg : ( +5) +(+2 ) = +7 ● When two Negative Integers are added ,the result is the sum of their absolute values with the same Sign. Eg : ( -5 ) + ( -2) = -7 ● When a positive and Negative Sign are added ,the result is the difference of integers and assign the greater integer Sign. Eg : ( -5) + ( +2) = -3 ( +5) + ( -2) = +3 Observation : S.No ADDITION OF INTEGERS Resultant 1 ( +5)+(+3) +8 2 ( -5) + ( -3) -8 3 ( +5)+(-3) +2 4 (-5) + ( +3) -2 Inference : When the integers of the same Sign are added the resultant will be the sum of integers with the Sign of greater integer. When two integers with opposite Signs are added the resultant will be the difference of integers with the Sign of greater integer .

Answer:
When a positive and Negative Sign are added ,the result is the difference of integers and assign the greater integer Sign.
