QUESTION:-The length of a rectangle is 5 metres less than twice the breadth. If the perimeter is 50

metres, find the length and breadth of the rectangle.

SOLUTION:-Let the breadth be x

Then length =2x-5

Perimeter = 50 metres

2(Length + breadth) = 2(x+2x-5)

3x -5=25 [because we know that perimeter of a rectangle= 2(l+b), so 50/2=25]

3x =25+5

3x=30

X =30/3

breadth =10metres

length = 2x-5m

=2*10-5m

=15 metres
