Materials required:  black paper on which a design is cut, clips a potted plant.

Procedure: Take a potted plant. Clip the black paper with design on one of the plants leaves.  Keep the potted plant in sunlight for 4 to 5 hrs

now take this leaf  wash in water palce this leaf in a petridish anda add few drops of iodine solution to  it

Observation: u will notice that the leaf turns bluish black except the covered region

Therefore by this we can tell that light is essential for photosynthesis
