This shows that all components sunlight, water and carbon dioxide are essential for photosynthesis..But this case is different in case of indoor plant.

Sunlight is an important phenomenon for the process of photosynthesis. The light energy is converted into chemical energy through the process.

EXPLANATION:

        The activity to show the importance of sunlight was conducted. A leaf bostik and a region was covered by the black polythene cover. The plant was kept in the soil for a while then it was put into sunlight for 4 to 5 hours. Then the leaf was loved and was placed in the boiling water for few minutes.

        Then it was Dipped in alcohol for few minutes. After eight iodine solution was poured in few drops. The black covers was removed and was placed under a microscope. We can see that all the area except the cover portion was turned into white or colorless.

        This is because all the starch was washed away while performing the above processes. This shows that the area which was covered performed no photosynthesis due to the absence of sunlight.
