Answer:

ABCD is a quadrilateral. It is divided into two traingles ABC and ACD.

AC can be found out by Pythagoras theorem.,

AC=√( 8*8+6*6)= 10

so area of ABC= 24 cm sq

now area of triangle ACD can be found using Heron formula,

A=√(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))

where s- semi perimeter.

so after calculating, A= 30√2

hence area of quadrilateral= 24+30√2 sq cm or 6(4+5√2) sq cm
