let the point be P(x,y).

ratio = 2:1

m=2       n=1

A(1,3)        B(4,6)

According to section formula,

P(x,y) = { (mx2 + nx1)/ (m+n) , (my2 + ny1)/ (m+n)

         = { (2 x 4) + (1 x 1) / 2+1  ,  (2 x 6) + (1 x 3) / 2+1 }

         = { 8+1/3 , 12 +3/3 }

         = { 9/3 , 15/3 }

         = (3,5)

Therefore, the coordinates of the Point P are (3,5).

Hope this helps!!
