Given:

Devi bought:

7 skirts → $x each

n skirts → $12 each

(2n + 1) skirts → $15 each

4 skirts → $3x each

To find:

The total cost of the skirts Devi bought

Solution:

Here we are given the cost of 1 number of each type of skirts.

So,

We will first find the total cost of each type of skirts bought by Devi separately:

The total cost of 7 skirts = 7 × ($ x) = $ 7x

The total cost of n skirts = n × ($ 12) = $ 12n

The total cost of (2n + 1) skirts = (2n +1) × ($ 15) = $ (30n + 15)

The total cost of 4 skirts = 4 × ($ 3x) = $ 12x

Now, we will add all the cost to get the final answer to the total cost.

∴ The total cost of the skirts is,

=  7x + 12n + (30n + 15) + 12x

= 7x + 12n + 30n + 15 + 12x

= (7x +12x) + (12n + 30n) + 15

= $ [19x + 42n + 15]

Thus, the total cost of the skirts she bought is $ [19x + 42n + 15].
