Answer:

If AD and BC are perpendicular on same side, CD won't intersect AB. However, if they are on opposite sides, CD would intersect AB (let at point E)

now consider triangle ADE and BCE (make diagram please)

AD = BC (equal perpendicular)

angle AED = angle BEC (vertically opposite angles)

angle ADE = angle CBE = 90°

hence the two triangles are congruent to each other by AAS (think how?)

so other corresponding parts of these two triangles will be equal

so, AE = BE

thus point E is the mid point of AB.

Hence, CD bisects AB
