since ad is equals to BC and A D is also parallel to BC now we know that if a pair of opposite sides of any quadrilateral is equal and parallel so the given quadrilateral is a parallelogram

hence ABCD is a parallelogram and using the property that opposite sides of parallelogram are equal we can say that a b is equals to CD
