prove :

Let ABC is isosceles triangle with sides AB=AC

and AD Is altitude.

now

in triangles, ADB and ADC we have

AB=AC (given)

angle ADB=ADC=90

AD=AD (common side)

by RHS congruency criteria

triangle ADB and ADC are congruent.

so, BD = CD(sides of congruent triangles)

Hence

AD bisects BC

PROVED
