median divides triangle into two triangles of equal areas

area of ADC=area of ABD

area of ADC+area of ABD

=15+15

area of ABC is 30cm sq

Area(triangle ABC) is 30 cm square.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

We have ABC as the triangle in which AD is median to BC.

We know that median of a triangle divides it into 2 triangles of equal areas.

So, ar(ΔADC) = ar(ΔADB)

ar(\triangle ADC) = ar(\triangle ADB) = 15 cm^2    [given]

Now, ar(ΔABC) =  ar(ΔADC) + ar(ΔADB)

= 15 + 15

= 30 cm^2
