AD is an median of triangle ABC. If area of triangle ABC= 44cm sq find the area of triangle ADC.

area of ∆ABC = 44

1/2 ×BC × AD =44

BC× AD= 88

(BD + CD) × AD = 88

2CD × AD = 88. (since BD = CD)

CD ×AD = 44

now ar∆ ACD = 1/2 × CD × AD

1/2× 44 = 22 cm sq
