Answer:

Please look at the figure provided.

If we look at triangle ABD and triangle ACD

They have equal bases BD and CD                (AB=CD because AD is median)

Also they lie between same parallels so they have equal area

Thus ar(ABD) + ar(ACD) = 20

So ar(ABD) = ar(ACD) = 20/2 = 10cm2
