From organelles in the cytoplasm at first sight noticeable core contractile and nutritious, vacuole. Ameba is nourished by formed false legs, pulls the prey into itself, so it nutritious vacuoles digest. Contractile vacuole serve for discharge of harmful substances. Breathes through the body surface.

When the occur unfavorable conditions ameba can make a cyst around which protects it from them. Ameba was then in a state of hibernation, not moving and does not feed, and when favorable conditions occur again, cyst breaks, and ameba again continues active life.
