✔✔ Here we are trying to calculate the distance between the lines AB and CD. The line AB is 3 units above the x-axis and the line CD is 3 units below the x-axis.

✔✔ Please note that when you mention distance, you don't mention it as a negative quantity. For example, if the distance from Delhi to Mumbai is 1500 km, then the distance from Mumbai to Delhi is also 1500 km (and not -1500 km).

✔✔ In this case when you are calculating the distance between these two lines, you just have to take the respective distances of the two lines from the x-axis and add them.
