Add 1 to a number and multiply the result by 2. If this is the same as subtracting 4 and then multiplying the result by three, what is the number? plz help​

the according to the question,

(x+1)2 =(x-4)3. (1)

2x+2=3x-12

2x-3x= -12-2

-x= -14

x=14

if we substitute x=14 in eq (1)

we can find that the ans for this ques is 14
