To find : sum of rational numbers .

Given : \frac{2}{3} + \frac{1}{10} + \frac{7}{5}

Solution:

  • To find the sum of given rational numbers we get need to equalize denominators of both the rational numbers. By taking LCM
  • Therefore, LCM = 30
  • Now, multiplying numerators of both rational numbers by same number as multiplied by denominators to make LCM.
  • Therefore, we get, \frac{2}{3}+\frac{1}{10}+ \frac{7}{5} =\frac{2\times 10}{30}+\frac{1 \times 3}{30}+ \frac{7\times 6}{30} $$

                                                          \begin{array}{l}=\frac{20}{30}+\frac{3}{30}+ \frac{42}{30}  \\\\=\frac{65}{30} \\\\= \frac{13}{6} \end{array}$$

Hence, sum of  \frac{2}{3} + \frac{1}{10} + \frac{7}{5}  is  \frac{13}{6} .
