Given :- Add 5 and 6 using the number line ?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • To add a positive number means that we have to move the point to the right side of the number line .
  • To add a negative number means that we have to move the point to the left side of the number line .

given number are :-

→ 5 = Positive number

→ 4 = Positive number .

so, we can say that, we have to move to the right side of number line .

Steps :-

  1. Draw a number line and indicate negative integers to left side of 0 and positive integers to the right side of 0 .
  2. Locate number 5 .
  3. Now, adding 6 means we have to move 6 units to the right .
  4. 5 + 6 = 11 . 6 units from 5 is number 11 .
  5. Locate number 11 on the number line now .
