Given :–

  • A mixed fraction equation.

To Find :–

  • Addition of the equation.

Solution :–

✒️ First, we need to convert mixed fraction into a normal fraction.

Converting the mixed fraction :–

First we convert 1 \frac{3}{5} this mixed fraction for converting in a normal fraction, 1 multiply with the denominator (5) and add the numerator on the multiply result and the denominator remains same.

Multiply 1 with denominator (5), we get,

→ 1 × 5

→ 5

Now add numerator (3), we get,

→ 5 + 3

→ 8

And the denominator remains same,

It means the fraction will be,

  •  \frac{8}{5}

✒️ For converting 1 \frac{1}{4} this mixed fraction,

Use the same method,

Multiply 1 with denominator (4), we get,

→ 1 × 4

→ 4

Now add numerator (3), we get,

→ 4 + 1

→ 5

And the denominator remains same,

It means the fraction will be,

  •  \frac{5}{4}

✒️ For converting 2 \frac{5}{12} this mixed fraction,

Again use the same method,

Multiply 2 with the denominator (12), we get,

→ 2 × 12

→ 24

Now add the numerator (5), we get,

→ 24 + 5

→ 29

And the denominator remains same,

It means the fraction will be,

  •  \frac{29}{12}

Now, sum of all the three equations.

 \frac{8}{5} +  \frac{5}{4} +  \frac{29}{12}

Find the L.C.M. of the denominators (5, 4, 12).

★ L.C.M. refers to the 1st attachment

L.C.M. = 60

So,

 \frac{96  + 75 + 145}{60}

 \frac{171 + 145}{60}

 \frac{ \cancel{316}}{ \cancel{60}}

\frac{ \cancel{158}}{ \cancel{30}}

 \frac{79}{15}

In fraction :–

  •  \frac{79}{15}

In mixed fraction :–

For converting \frac{79}{15} into mixed fraction.

✏️ First we need to find the whole number,

 \frac{79}{15} = 5.26667

• The whole number is 5.

✏️ Now find the new number,

Dividend – Divisor × Quotient.

→ 79 - (15 × 5)

→ 79 - 75

→ 4

OR

You also take the remainder after dividing [division of 79 by 15 is refer to the 2nd attachment ]

So,

✏️ Remainder is in the place of numerator of the fraction.

✏️ Whole number is in the front of the fraction.

✏️ But the denominator remains same (I.e. Divisor will be the denominator of the fraction]

So, the mixed fraction will be,

  •  5 \frac{4}{15}
