EXPLANATION

ADD

2y - 3x^2 + 7 and 10x^2 + 5y - 7

= 2y - 3x^2 + 7 + 10x^2 + 5y - 7

= 7x^2 + 7y

SUBTRACT

2y - 3x^2 + 7 and 10x^2 + 5y - 7

= 2y - 3x^2 + 7 - (10x^2 + 5y - 7)

= 2y - 3x^2 + 7 - 10x^2 - 5y + 7

= - 13x^2 - 3y + 14
