Answer:

 - 2 +  \frac{2}{5}  \\   \frac{ - 2 \times 5}{1 \times 5}  +  \frac{2}{5}  \\  \frac{ - 10}{5}  +  \frac{2}{5}  \\  \frac{ - 10 + 2}{5}  \\  \frac{ - 8}{5}

-8/5

is also a rational no

The numbers -2 can be written in the form of p/q where q ≠ 0 (-2 = -2/1)

2/5 is also a rational number which is in the form of p/q where q ≠ 0

Sum = -2 + 2/5 = - 8/5 which is in the form of p/q where q ≠ 0

So, the sum of given pair of rational number is also a rational number
