\bigstar Correct Question:

  • Add the additive inverse of {(-16) + 12) + (-48) - 3 of 4 } to the product of (-7.4) and (-9).

\bigstarTo find:

  • By adding the additive Inverse of {(-16) + (12)+ (-48) - 3 of 4 } to the product of -(7.4) and (-9).

\bigstar Solution:

{(-16 ) + 12 + (-48) + (- 3 ) of 4 }

(By using BODMAS rule)

= {(-16 ) + 12 + (-48) + (- 3 ) × 4 }

= {(-16 ) + 12 + (-48) + (- 12) }

= {(-16 ) + (-48) + (- 12) + 12 }

= { (-76) + 12 }

= (-64)

Now additive Inverse of (-64) is 64.

The product of (-7.4) and (-9)

= (-7.4) × (-9)

= 66.6

Now by adding the additive Inverse of (-64) and 66.6 we get,

64 + 66.6

= 130.6

1. What is additive Inverse?

  • The additive inverse of a number a is the number that, when added to a, we get zero. This number is also known as the opposite, sign change, and negation. For a real number, it reverses its sign: the opposite to a positive number is negative, and the opposite to a negative number is positive.

2. What is BODMAS Rule?

  • B \rightarrow Brackets
  • O \rightarrow Of
  • D \rightarrow Division
  • M \rightarrow Multiplication
  • A \rightarrow Addition
  • S \rightarrow Subtraction

3. What happens when a negative number is multipled with a negative number?

  • Negative × Negative = Positive
