  • We have to evaluate the above expression by using the given data.

                Given data:- \frac{-5}{12} +\frac{-8}{12}.

                To find:- Value of the given expression.

                Solution:-

  • We will take the LCM of the denominators, and make denominators the same.
  • We will Convert the given fractions to equivalent fractions with the denominator as the LCM.
  • Adding the numerators over the denominators.

       Therefore,

             \begin{array}{l}\frac{-5}{12}+\frac{-8}{12} \\\\=\frac{-5+-8}{12} \\\\=-\frac{13}{12}\end{array}

     Hence we will get the value is -\frac{13}{12}.
