According to the question

 =  -  \frac{2}{9}  +  ( - \frac{4}{9} ) \\  \\  = \frac{2}{9}  +   \frac{4}{9}  \\  \\  =  \frac{2 + 4}{9}  \\  \\  =  \frac{6}{9}  \\  \\  = \cancel\frac{6}{9} \\  \\  =  \frac{2}{3}

Hence its solved.
