Answer :(a) Fizzy or carbonated drinks contain dissolved in water which produces the Bicarbonate anion, and hence a slight increase in the Hydronium ion,, concentration and a consequent lowering of the pH value. This makes such drinks acidic and hence blue litmus will turn red if dipped in such drinks.

(b) The vinegar should turn the blue litmus paper red.

(c) Litmus paper does not show any color change in pure water as it has neutral pH which has value 7 and litmus show color change in both acidic and basic solution.

(d)Litmus paper turn red litmus into blue when dipped in dishwashing solution.

(e)Baking soda turn red litmus into blue litmus.

(f)Toothpaste is basic nature so it turns red into blue .

(g)Onion is an olfactory indicator. It is obtained from natural sources ie plants. It changes smell with acids and bases and helps to detect whether the substance is acidic or basic.

(h)When soap is dissolved in water, the solution is alkaline in nature due to the formation of alkali NaOH or KOH. The solution changes the colour of red litmus to blue.

(i) Soda solution changes red litmus into blue litmus .

(j) When drops of lemon juice are put on blue litmus it turns red because of presence of acids.

Hope it helps u !!!
