Let the unknown Number be y

According To The Question ;

2y + ( - 7/3 ) = 3/7

=> 2y = 3/7 - ( - 7/3 )

=> 2y = 3/7 + 7/3

=> 2y = (9 + 49) /21

=> 2y = 58/21

=> y = 58/21 × 1/2

=> y = 29/21 [ANS]

VERIFICATION :-

LHS =

2y + ( - 7/3 )

= 2 × 29/21 - 7/3

= 58/21 - 7/3

=(58 - 49)/21

= 9/21

= 3/7

=RHS

HENCE, RHS= LHS our Answer is Correct.
