Please note the catch-phrase "use any number". That's where the trick lies. That means, on top of the 5 digits, a number within these 5 digits can be repeated.Thus... 11+9+5+3+1.....+1(Repetition is allowed)=30

i dont know we use 3! for doing sums of permutations and combinations there is no rule that for odd numbers we use factorial
